Intro: Julie Dierberger
Julie Dierberger is a graduate student in her final semester in the Educational Leadership PhD program at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Her service, research and scholarship are rooted in experiential learning theory and community development. She started her career in higher education as an undergraduate student working at the University of Nebraska’s Central Administration office and, upon learning about educational administration as a career, applied and was accepted to UNL’s masters in Educational Administration with a Specialization in Student Affairs. Her career has focused on serving students, faculty, staff and communities through training academic and co-curricular service-learning instruction and implementation, teaching student leadership, and supporting the myriad of student involvement on a small, religious-affiliated campus. Julie currently leads an innovative service-learning program within the Service Learning Academy at the University of Nebraska at Omaha where she trains and connects P-12 teachers, UNO faculty members and nonprofit community partners in quality and collaborative service-learning instruction. A native Nebraskan, she believes strongly in the “love of place” and lives in Omaha with her wife, two dogs, and cat.
